To her great-grandchildren, she is the living thread that ties them back to a small Trinidadian town where it all began.

She sacrificed without keeping count. She gave without expecting return. She prayed for each of us by name. Whatever opportunities we have today, whatever lives we have built — they grew from the soil she tended for a hundred and one years.
